About Us

Youth Alive Zimbabwe is a Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa (FMSA) managed interdenominational youth organization. It seeks to empower youth and young adults with life skills as well as facilitate and sustain positive attitudes, values and behaviour.

Its interventions are unique in that they are value based, educational and experiential.  They address the root causes of challenges young people face in a practical and participatory manner.

Our History
Youth Alive Zimbabwe was born out of an Education for Life training that was facilitated by Sr. Miriam Duggan – the founder of Youth Alive, and her team from Uganda and Zambia in 1999.

Our Vision

An empowered AIDS free generation in which young people fulfil their dreams and ambitions in life with respect for humanity.

Our Mission

To develop young people of integrity, service and good character, people who understand their purpose and lead exemplary lives.

Governance Structure

Youth Alive Zimbabwe is led by a nine-member Board of Trustees. The engendered Board of Trustees of five women and four men has varying skills ranging from legal expertise, education and skills development, public health, financial management, human resources and good governance.

The organization is run by an Executive Director who is the link between the board and management team for strategic direction and vision. It also has a progressive constitution and policies that make the organization transparent and accountable to all its stakeholders.
