Treasure Life
The Treasure Life program was introduced out of the need to have suitable material for Junior Secondary School Students (13-15 years). Many of these students have gone through the Adventure Unlimited Programme so are ready for more in depth information, sharing and understanding of the meaning of life and the values that sustain it.
This program seeks to help teenagers to appreciate the wonderful gift of life and to treasure it. The program tries to cultivate Moral and Cultural Values, which influence young people in all decisions that they make in life as regards themselves, family and society as a whole.
Many young people are in need of guidance, direction and positive support to help them understand the changes they are experiencing and to cope with the many negative pressures in today’s society. The program therefore helps young people truly appreciate that life is a Treasure comprising of the body, mind and spirit. It is a gift given to us by God to be valued.
Strategy
The strategy of this life skills program is to cultivate moral values, which influence young people in all decisions that they make. We have incorporated a spiritual component whcih plays an important part in helping young people truly appreciate that life is a Treasure comprised of the body, mind and spirit. It is gift given to us by God to be valued and lived to the full in relationship with Him and other people.
The programme can be done using a workshop format or a series of lessons. The participatory method is used throughout. Our experienced team of facilitators are able to adapt the material to fit the experience and background of the individual participants and to make the best of available time.
